A GREEN FACILITY

Here at Seven Hills, we pride ourselves on doing our part to help keep the earth cleaner. Here are some fun facts and examples of how we “go green”......Did you know?

  • We Recycle cardboard

    • Recycling cardboard only takes 75% of the energy needed to make new cardboard.

    • Recycling 1 ton of cardboard saves 46 gallons of oil.

  • We recycle plastic and aluminum

    • Recycling one ton of aluminum: Saves 39.6 barrels (1,663 gallons) of oil

    • Saves 10 cubic yards of landfill space

    • 35% of plastic ends up in the ocean.

  • We ride share for lunch order

    • It’s not a secret that cars do a lot of damage to our environment. They produce tons of toxic pollutants and chemicals that result in greenhouse emissions, acid rain, climate change, and significant water and air pollution.

  • We have solar panels

    • Photovoltaic panels, also called PVs, are the technology required to convert solar energy to electricity. Their efficiency is around 15 percent. If that seems low, consider that plants are only 3 percent efficient at converting the sun's energy.

    • Solar cells were "discovered" in 1876 by William Adams.

What can you do to help?

Soon we will be offering reusable cloth bags at a minimal fee. These bags are great to be used anywhere and can really cut back on the amount of plastic being used. One simple act can make a big difference!
